World NewsMilitants Retreat In Yemen
Al-Qaeda linked militants beat a hasty retreat in south Yemen after the Yemeni army started an offensive against them. This involved war planes attcking them from the sky and ground troops attacked militant held towns.
The operation has been successful with six militant fighters being killed, this therefore prompted the militants to withdraw. They had taken control of the land by exploiting the political instability in the region. The USA is reportedly backing the operation, this is in addition to what it started after being frustrated at the lack of action from Yemen. Read more here Mladic On Trial In The Hague
Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb commander is on trial at a UN Tribunal at The Hague. He is being charged with genocide. This comprises of: Crimes against humanity, War crimes and 11 counts of Genocide.If convicted he could face life imprisonment for the crimes he has perpetrated in the 1992-1995 war in which 100,000 were left dead. Mladic, gave his supporters a thumbs up gesture and clapped his hands as he entered the courtroom. later, he gestured to a Muslim women, running a hand across his throat.

This weeks task is to promote English awareness of British Sparkling wines.They must make a distinctive brand including a website and pitch to top industry experts laid on by Lord Sugar.
Team phoenix appointed Tom as team leader, a fairly obvious choice since he is a wine broker. meanwhile Team Sterling chose Ricky as their team leader. The dog act Ashley and Pudsey have won this years Britain's Got talent after a spectacular performance.They beat the opera act performed by Jonathan and charlotte, the syncronised swimming act Aquabatique, dance troops and the welsh choir, only boys aloud.They have won £500,000 and an option to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal variety Show.

Usage Of Phones Enabled On Virgin
Virgin plans to be the first British airline to enable in flight calls.Previously for fear of interference with the plane's technology, using a mobile phone was strictly banned.
The service will be limited though, with only ten passengers at a time being able to place a call due to limited bandwidth.As well as that, the cost of a call will be £1 a minute.
Once this service develops and the costs go down,will a flight become noisy with people's ringtones going off and people talking, much like a bus.
The only reason that this is being implemented id to satisfy consumers demand for connectivity when and wherever they are. In 99% of situations people can cope with not answering an email or responding to a text. The same is planned for the London Underground where there are plans for internet and phone connectivity.
Do we really need to be connected all the time? Will we really not cope without our phone for a few hours?

02 profits Fall By A Third
The year on year operating profit of 02 has fallen to € 334m after its revenues have fallen by 6%.
This comes after it's lucrative two year contracts on Iphone's have ended, and now that it is no longer the exclusive mobile network that offers the much coveted Iphone contract, many of its customers are going elsewhere. the network attempted to retain customers by slashing the price of the newest iphone, the 4s. As well as this it also increased the amount of handset upgrades. A spokesperson said, " The company's efforts in retaining the customer base have shown positive signs in contract churn which will translate into higher retained value going forward".
revenue fell by 6% to €1.719bn in the first quarter, this was an improvement from the revenue decline of 6.8% of the previous quarter.
